Living in Notting Hill, London, Richard’s keen interest in the history of British porcelain was ignited by daily walks down the famous Portobello Road, where he became enthralled by the plethora of unusual objects that surrounded him. Inspired by conversations with antique dealers at Portobello Market, Richard realized that there was a surplus of antique saucers, because teacups break more frequently, and decided he wanted to find a way to make these orphaned saucers relevant again. This idea became his signature Reflect collection and provided the platform to launch his brand. The Details from Willow collection is his contemporary take on the traditional Blue Willow pattern.
Based in London Richard Brenden launched in 2013 and is now an internationally celebrated brand, creating contemporary tableware collections produced entirely by master craftspeople and heritage industries around the world. By bringing together contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship, he believes it is possible to create timeless collections.
